At The Hip Kiln, we offer a hands-on wet clay experience for both beginners and experienced artists. To ensure a smooth booking process, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Check Availability

  • Studio time must be booked in advance.

  • Walk-ins are welcome based on availability, but reservations are recommended.

  • Check our online calendar or call us at 606-305-1625 to inquire about open time slots.

Step 2: Make a Reservation

  • Sessions are available in hourly increments with a minimum booking of 1 hour.

  • ​A non-refundable deposit of $10 per person is required at the time of booking.

  • Groups of 6 or more should book at least 48 hours in advance to guarantee space.

Step 3: Prepare for Your Visit
 

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy.

  • All tools and materials are provided.

  • Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time to check in and set up.

Step 4: Creating & Drying Process

  • After your session, pieces must dry completely before glazing and firing.

  • Drying time varies but typically takes 7-10 days before the first firing.

  • Once fired, you will be notified to return for glazing.

Step 5: Glazing & Firing
 

  • Customers can return at a scheduled time to glaze their pieces.

  • After glazing, pieces will be fired a second time and ready for pickup in 7-10 days.

  • ​You will receive a notification when your piece is ready for pickup.

Cancellation Policy

Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to another session with 24-hour notice.

No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled time will forfeit the deposit.
